Mark Zuckerberg Says He’s Still The Best Person To Run Facebook
From the past few weeks, the Cambridge Analytica scandal is trending on the social media platform. Because of that, Facebook has come under fire from lots of people, with a lot of people deleting their Facebook account in protest.
Well, the Cambridge Analytica fire has tarnished the reputation of Facebook‘s completely. Mark Zuckerberg is being asked continually to justify the actions of the company in the past and what’s coming in the future.
As per the latest estimates by Facebook, the number of affected people in Cambridge Analytica scandal has raised to 87 million now. Well, Facebook has also admitted that they scan people’s Messenger photos and messages to prevent abuse on the social networking platform.
Well, all of this happenings raised some serious question about Mark Zuckerberg’s presence at Facebook. One of the Facebook’s investors who holds 1 billion worth of company’s stocks called out that Zuckerberg should step down as the chairman.
During an interview with the reporters on Wednesday, he was asked whether he still thinks that he is the right person to run Facebook on which Mark Zuckerberg said “Yes”. Zuckerberg said “I think life is about learning from mistakes, and working out what you need to do to move forward”
He also said that he and Facebook made some mistakes, but, when you’re creating a platform like Facebook that is “unprecedented” mistakes can happen. “If we got this right we would’ve messed something else up.”
He further said, “I think what people should hold us accountable for is learning from the mistakes and continually doing better,”. When asked about fixing data privacy, he replied: “it’s going to be a never-ending battle”. Although it’s a multi-year effort, by the end of this year, Facebook might come with a solution for many of the issues.
